About me

I am a 2nd Year student currently studying Industrial Design at Loughborough University and looking for the opportunity to have a year out placement in industry. I am very enthusiastic at the prospect of working and trying my hand at E-marketing, promotions and packaging design, which is a real passion of mine and a busy hands on environment which you have describes suits my work ethic very well.

Throughout the majority of my time at Loughborough and years prior, I have been involved in a number of design practices which contribute to my significance in being apart of your design team.

I have a passion and desire for design and this has only been developed since studying Industrial Design at Loughborough University. It has enabled me to improve upon my skills learnt at A-Level and whilst exposing me to where the design process really starts it's embedded and evolved my creative skills.

I wish to use my knowledge gained over the last 2 years, and years prior to provide new, innovative ideas for your company and hopefully (if apart of your organisation) increase my skill set, passion and knowledge of the industry I wish to break into.

Skills

From my two years at Loughborough University my computer skills have been enhanced and extended massively and I am confident in working with the most up to date software. The softwares which I'm most confident in are ProEngineer, SolidWorks Render and Adobe Photoshop alongside working on it with a Bamboo Tablet and Sketchbook Pro, I'm a confident speaker, enjoy working under pressure and presentations to large groups of people doesn't phase me. I enjoy proudly presenting my work and findings and believe I'm a read "people person". I recently gave a presentation to a large number of students on the need for a drive in sustainable design. I received a respectable 72%, which reflects my enthusiasm for the subject as well as my confidence in talking to a large group.

Sector Experience

Throughout my 2 years at Loughborough I have gained experience and been amongst design practices which would contribute extensively to your company., Firstly I have volunteered my design expertise to local schools through designing athletics certificates and programmes to painting whole stage sets for their yearly Shakespeare plays; emphasizing my artistic and design abilities., Additionally I have tried my hand at Graphic Design through helping fellow colleagues with their degree work, this has consisted of redesigning iPod and sweet packaging, which I enjoyed partaking in during my free time., On top of this, the computer software knowledge I have gained over the past two years studying at Loughborough University gives me a modern edge as we are exposed to the latest and most up to date programmes such as Pro Engineer, Creo, Photoshop and SolidWorks Rendering. I wish to bring this expertise to your company and hope I am given the chance to do so.
