About me
Currently I am Alterations Assistant on a HETV production for Apple TV. In addition to this role I am Costume Designer for Anders Duckworth's upcoming projet 'Mapping Gender'
Prior to this I was a dresser for both Cameron Mackintosh ltd and Disney Theatrical Group. In these role I took on extra responsibilities in addition to my regular dressing tasks. This included assisting wardrobe with the daily jobs of maintaining, repairing and altering costume for the show.
I have a degree in Theatre and Screen: Costume Interpretation from Wimbledon College of Arts (UAL). I graduated in 2018 and over the summer began working for Disney Theatrical Group. Although my university course is a film and theatre based, we were constantly reminded that our skills and specialisms were transferable to other industries such as fashion.
It is thanks to my degree and previous experience that I have a a high skill level of technical sewing and drafting and creating patterns for garments. I also took specialist workshops in tailoring, beading and millinery to give myself a broader area of skills for my to utilise in the working world. Using my skills I have been able to create whole looks by selecting fabrics, researching styles and fashions and then creating my garments from patterns I either created or adapted.
I have experience using various types of fabrics from natural fibres such a wool and linens to synthetic tricky fabrics such a Lycra for dance wear.
In my spare time I freelance with clothing alterations in addition to accessory and garment making.
