About me

Dear Sir/Madam;

I have recently graduated from Kingston University, where I studied for a BSc (Hons Degrees in CISM) Computer Science and I have just seen your vacancy for an Industrial Placement student later this year.

I believe that I have a number of skills that would be useful to your organisation. I have a good theoretical knowledge of many different aspects of computer systems including MS Word, Excel, systems analysis and database systems. I also have a sound understanding of programming languages and packages such as C++, C, VB, Object oriented, UML, HTML, JavaScript, SQL, Oracle and Rational Rose and I am particularly interested in the area of Web Design, Database and Virtual Reality (3D).

I see myself as a creative person, who can bring new ideas and a fresh perspective to a range of different scenarios. In addition I have many transferable skills such as presenting, letter writing, researching and report writing. These skills were honed in the first year of my course where I gained an A in the Professional Skills' module.

I am a very fast learner who can work well under pressure, and I am able to rapidly assimilate complex tasks. However, when I don't understand an issue I am not afraid to ask for clarification. I am a people person who enjoys working with colleagues to solve problems and complete tasks.
