Moss Beynon Juckes is a multidisciplinary dance artist born in Sydney, raised in the , based in Berlin. Since Moss was a child she created choreographies and music. Moss is researching her new work on oration, dance, performance and musicality, integrating practices of intimacy and somatic body and voice work to explore embodied politics and neurodiversity.
Moss Beynon Juckes is a vocalist, choreographer, composer, and performer whose work blends world folk influences, singer-songwriter intimacy, and ambient soundscapes with experimental ritual performance. Their art integrates performance, voice, and movement, drawing inspiration from themes of queer ecology, embodiment, and spiritual happenings.
For over two decades, she has toured internationally, performing solo, with her bands Tralalka, OKO and in collaboration with visual and choreographic artists such as Tino Sehgal, Michael Portnoy, Nwando Ebizie, Claire Vivianne Sabottke and Sheena McGrandles. Her solo work is known for its haunting voice, site-specific resonance, and transformative live presence
Moss was awarded NEUSTART KULTUR, Fonds Darstellende Künste, #Take Care funding and DIS-TANZEN support for her research solo project Strange Speech, integrating somatic body and voice work to explore embodied politics, interspecies communication, queer ecology and neurodiversity. #Take Heart supported collaborative research on Embodiment Practices for Storying Otherwise, inspired by Donna Haraway and PSR foundation supported her collaborative practices during Ela Spaldings Suelo Methodology - a community installation on ecological corridors in urban landscapes, where she made a social choreography and public performance Spring Revival Tour and where her proposal We are (CONSORTIA)! emerged with Rosalind Masson. This was later awarded the EUNIC Cairo Artist residency, which she declined to work on A Mort with Claire Vivianne Sobottke. This year she was awarded the coproduction fund from the Goethe Institute Cairo with choreographer Shayma Shoukry for a two year project called Fertile Presence to premiere in 2024.
