About me

Dear Sir/Madam,

I am writing in response to your online advertisement for the position as a Freelance Artist/Designer as posted on creativepool website. Enclosed is my CV and portfolio showing my design education and experience. I am an ideal candidate for the role you are currently recruiting for. I have been working in the design and print industry coming close to 2 years as a graphic designer and print production assistant. I hold a Bachelor of Design degree which I majored in graphic design, Exhibition and wayfinding design were inclusive in the selection of papers I studied from Massey University, Wellington, New Zealand and also completed one year of study in Interior Architecture. I am in the UK with a 2 year youth mobility work visa and available to start work immediately as a freelance designer. I have moved over to the UK to build new industry relationships, networks, develop new thinking, ideas and new found inspiration.

I'm a creative who truly believes in the power of design and it's ability to create genuine impact. I am passionate about the craft of design and believe every step from the initial concept to execution should be treated the same due care and attention. With energy, hard work, honesty and being prepared to go the extra mile can make any project into a successful one.

While working at Elite Print and Rainbow Creative, my responsibilties included designing/setting up files and ensuring that files meet the specifications ready for print production, working along side clients from the beginning briefing, development following through to the final execution. I had to strictly time manage and be well organized to balance and prioritize multiple projects. Over the past couple of years I have built a great understanding and knowledge base within print and the processes within offset and digital printing. I have prepressed and designed artwork on all format sizes from plastic membership cards, laser/die cuting, editorial magazine to large pop-up banners for conferences.

Over the past 5 years I have developed many skills and proficient in InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator and Acrobat Professional. I am well presented individual that is highly orgainized and apprehensive with computer systems and programs on both PC and Mac platforms. My ability to learn quickly, my meticulous eye for detail and experience as well as my outgoing positive nature will be an asset to you and your team. I pride myself in being honest and trustworthy person who is not afraid of hard work. In past jobs I've learnt to be a team player as well as being able to work as a self-motivated individual. In my years of study I have had to strictly time manage and to organize myself to balance multiple projects at the one time.
