Job title: Junior information architect

Dear Sir/Madam

It is with great interest that I am forwarding my CV for your consideration for the position stated above.

I have been keen to garner experience in the information architect field since I have graduated in multimedia computing. I have always been interested in HCI and user centred design and have found ways to incorporate these in my previous jobs.

I have over two years of experience in the field of email marketing where I have been responsible for building HTML based email marketing material. I feel that this role will allow me to apply my knowledge of user centred design and really think about the all-important group - the user. Although my commercial experience has been in Internet marketing, I feel that I have at some stage been able to incorporate concepts of information architect which I feel can be a transferable skill for this position.

During my time as an E-Marketing developer at "Ashurst LLP" I was responsible for migrating PDF marketing material such as newsletters and invitations to HTML based email marketing materials. The migration required re-thinking of the design and how the clients would perceive the change from the PDF material to the email based material. Being involved in this project I can demonstrate that I have had exposure information architect concepts.

Further more I hold a first class honors degree in Multimedia computing where HCI has been a core module throughout the degree for 3 years and was also incorporated as part of other modules. Throughout my degree my main area of interest was HCI, to add to this I also carried out my final year project based on HCI and user centered design. I carried out usability studies on the windows interface and the Mac interface and based on the results designed my own interface of an operating systems.

This position as a junior Information architect is the perfect role that will give me an opportunity to learn and broaden my knowledge in a field that I am really passionate about and at the same time allow me to utilise my skill set and reveal my desire and ability to contribute to the team and to the organisation.
