About me
I have worked in the print since leaving college and spent 19years working for the Daily Mail.
During my time at the Mail, I worked on many of their special projects, including the initial set up and design of Metro and London Lite.
I also spent 18months in Dublin working on the relaunch and redesign of Ireland on Sunday (Irish Daily Mail), which was acquired by Associated Newspapers.
I have since worked as Commercial Features Editor on a Kent-based regional newspaper called the News Shopper, where I was responsible for a team of writers, photographers and freelancers as well as being in charge of all layout, design and content for Blackheath Living magazine, for which I was Editor.
I returned to the Daily Mail on a short-term contract in 2009 where I was responsible for training staff on all their titles in InDesign, InCopy and Atex/Prestige, their new publishing system.
Since then I have worked on a casual basis for the Daily Express and Sunday Mirror.
At present I am staff at the Daily Express/Daily Star, where I am a production controller. My main responsibilities include setting up all editions with correct colour falls, inputting all ad-splits, checking all page pairs and liaising with all of our print sites (UK and overseas) to ensure the smooth running and correct timing of the editions.
