About me

I have just finished up costumes for a ballet for Benjamin Millepied's dance company LA Dance Project, where I was the costume supervisor's assistant. I have obtained an Associate's of Art degree in Fashion Design from the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising. While attending FIDM, I interned as a wardrobe assistant for an independent film with a limited budget. Last summer, I was the assistant costumer for a TV show on A&E called "Don't Trust Andrew Mayne." Earlier this year, I was the costume designer for a public service announcement for a non-profit organization promoting the importance of the arts. I am applying to this job because I would like to expand my experience in the industry by myself, not just as someone's assistant. By taking this job, I feel that it could potentially jump start my career. In my previous jobs, I took on tasks such as prepping wardrobe and make up areas prior to filming, running errands for the wardrobe stylist/make up artist (including dry cleaning, going to costume houses, sourcing fabric and trim, etc.), purchasing wardrobe, coordinating outfits, helping the actor dress, applying and touching up the actor's make up in between takes, packing the wardrobe in an organized manner by episodes and scenes, keeping an Adobe Illustrator-generated continuity book along with outfits sheets for each episode, creating petty cash sheets, and sourcing 40+ clown costumes and dressing the extras in their clown costumes in a timely fashion. My resourcefulness, organizational skills, and strong do-it-yourself ethic is what makes the cast looking fabulous while staying under the budget.
