About me

Hi! I'm Mike, an award-winning freelance senior designer who makes Purpose-Driven Motion Graphics. Hope you're good!

I specialise in creating animation for projects that put some good in the world - whether that's helping young people get across their experiences of discrimination, supporting companies working to reduce carbon footprints, or just wanting some really cool visuals for a rave, I'm on a mission to help leave the world a better place where I can.

My work spans 2D and 3D animation, whatever is going to be the best medium to tell your story. The main tools used are After Effects and Cinema4D, but if we need to come up with something exciting and new to get the job done then I'm always up to try to push things forwards!

Experience-wise, I worked in-house at agencies for around 10 years, with roles including Head of Design & Animation, Video & Motion Lead, and Creative Director, before making the leap to freelancing in 2020. The wide range of projects and styles from agency life set me up well to be able to respond to a wide range of briefs as a freelancer, and I love the variation in the projects I get to work on.

As a side project I run the MoGraph Beats project - an initiative to build creative connections between beatmakers and motion artists. It's a playground for creatives to explore the connections between music and visuals, and has so far lead to some amazing collaborations.
