About me
Welcome! I am a Creative Stylist and Art Director based in London.
Coming from a background in the arts, Michelle has explored many mediums, including Fine-Art, Classical Painting, Illustration, Print and Textile design and Sculpture. Still a practising Painter and Illustrator, she has developed her medium beyond the traditional Fine Art methods and has focused her talents to the art of Direction and Management.
Drawing inspiration from classical music, theatre, ballet and independent films, Michelle strives to create works of art which leave the audience both satisfied but yearning, by creating the desire for the viewer to explore the arts further and leaving room for personal interpretation and thought.
As once said by Michelle Helen - "A piece completed is a piece unfinished, a story completed is a story incomplete. An artist who considers their art perfected is forever learning and a learning artist is forever perfecting." In this, Michelle expressed her desire to never stop practising the Fine Arts, while using each day for exploration and reflection. She believes that to become a great and inspirational artist, one must understand and involve themselves in the art they teach, pressing that a successful teacher is not merely one who inspires and guides but one who is inspired and lead.
A devoted advocate for human and animal rights, Michelle aims to promote the social ideology where by exploitation of all forms is eliminated and replaced with unconditional compassionate practice, through vegan fashions and lifestyle to the absolute use of Fair Trade produce. The use of animal derived materials is not supported in Michelle's works, with the rare exception of preservation and recycling of materials from entirely natural passing found within nature.
Michelle is a firm believer in independently practicing your own trade. While, she values the significance of formal education, she feels that Artists should not be confined within walls and as a result, decided to take the leap after completing one year of art college to establish herself as a freelance artist. During this transition, she learned that while she was completely satisfied practicing her art form without constraints, she increasingly began to desire the ability to educate and develop her knowledge independently along side the ability to practice art. It was this desire which lead Michelle to enrol herself upon a course in Advertising via distance and independent learning. The study of Advertising continually informs and influences the way in which she perceives and sculpts her work and with this, her interest in the subject forever grows and has influenced her in the study of Art History and Business.
Michelle Helen is currently working on a number of large scale creative projects, including the first series of her ‘Coffee Table Art Book' to be launched next year - a hard back book detailing personal interpretations of controversial and prominent topics, from Sociology, Art History, Psychology and Media Practice. The project will offer a light hearted approach to the topics, while still remaining factual and informative, and is by no means your typical educational or artsy fartsy creative book. The Chef's recommendation

An evolving talent, she is always enthusiastic to learn and so welcomes collaboration from all walks of artistic life!
