Dear Sir/Madam,

I refer to the position of DTP / Graphic Design advertised on the Creative Pool website. Please find attached my CV for your consideration.

I am interested in this position as I am looking for a new challenge, am passionate about publishing and graphic design, and have nearly seventeen years experience working within a Studio environment, as well as Brochure Production departments in the travel industry using CS5 Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Indesign, Dreamweaver, Flash, QuarkXPress 7, Excel, Word, Powerpoint and in-house Content Management Systems, as well as managing PDF workflow systems to external printers.

I feel that my experience would suit this role, as I have great attention to detail, a good communicator between my own and other departments, as well as liaising with clients and external suppliers, and the ability to work to tight deadlines within set corporate identity guidelines and a natural ability to work happily as an individual or within a team.

I also have 11 years experience within the printing industry as a litho machine minder and planner/platemaker, which has been invaluable, ensuring artwork is of a suitable integrity for print. Have recently been learning web design over the last 6 months, using Adobe Dreamweaver and Flash and researching and implementing SEO to improve page rankings of my own freelance website. My experience includes:

Design/artworking: Production of brochures and ad hoc material from concept ideas through to print. Daily housekeeping of digital asset systems and in-house Content Management System.

Brochure Production Supervisor: Supervised a team of artworkers delivering greater efficiency and accuracy. Implemented new in-house workflow processes and systems saving the company around 1 million.

Brochure Project Supervisor: Successfully developed in-house price panel and flight page creation, saving company in excess of 100,000. Implemented new price panel process for TUI Travel combining best practices from both Thomson and First Choice systems into a more efficient and streamlined process.
