About me

As you will see from my enclosed CV, I am a highly motivated, tenacious and hard-working individual with experience within demanding news broadcasting environments underpinned by excellent technical abilities and degrees in International Journalism (BA) and Media Management (MA). I now wish to further develop my career, and am therefore looking for a new and suitably challenging position. I feel the advertised position would be ideal.

Comprehensive knowledge of international news and culture: Developed through my study of international journalism where I specialised in the broadcast environment and international news and international relations, plus half a year's work placement working on different types of television news programmes.

Effective communication, interview and persuade skills: Developed through running a series of news programmes at University called: "JMU tonight" with a five member news team. I have also proved my worth with my interview skills during production for several news packages. I worked in a TV news environment; I met different interviewees' everyday. I showed my excellent negotiating and problem solving ability when, for instance, an interviewee got angry about our filming and I persuaded them to accept our interview. I have developed the ability to listen carefully to them, giving them my time, being patient understanding and calming them down when things have gone wrong.
