About me
Hello,
I am an experienced Graphic/Web Designer working in an In house role for an expanding, market leading Sports and Fitness company based in Manchester, a position I have held for over a year now. Previous to that I held an In house position with a cultural centre for just short of a year, have worked as a Freelance Designer for UHC in Manchester and undertaken a number of other successful Freelance projects over the course of the past three years.
My main responsibilities are to oversee all design requirements from front end web design and development to producing print solutions for our internal and external clients. The company have recently decided to establish a design agency (SHOKK creative) on the strength and success of the work me and my colleague have had not only in servicing our industry but also the expanding external client base we have worked hard to secure.
Much of our work for external clients is web based and is therefore my responsibility whether it is working on the front end design to pass on to our partner development team, coding and building a website using HTML/CSS/Javascript/Flash, establishing a presence across the social media platform or develop an e-Marketing strategy to help manage, expand and fulfill our client's expectations.
I have a number of web projects under development at varying stages of the design and build process, for clients such as a Print Management company, a School Sports Partnership, an independant Fitness Trainer and a Not For Profit Organisation, all of which I can present in their varying forms at interview.
Our day to day role as the in house creative team means I have to manage a large degree of print requirements varying in scale and deadline demands. We produce all marketing materials in house and have been commissioned to produce branding solutions and supporting collateral for clients such as sports clothing manufacturers (Pro Am Kits), Gym faclities (The Hampton and all SHOKK Gym sites), marketing materials for youth focused organisations (Connexions and RECLAIM) and producing artwork for trade shows such as Leisure Industry Week and Grassroots. Our employers constantly require print solutions designing in very tight turnarounds, be it advertisements with same day deadlines, marketing collateral for our franchise sites and clients or large scale banners and equipment and services brochures.
I am currently redesigning the website for my employer to improve their online presence. Their existing website was built a few years ago solely in Flash and has never been effective in helping the company data capture or manage it's traffic and conversion rates. Whilst focusing on the design of the site to enhance our brand position within the industry I have also been developing strategies for how the company can go on to maximise it's web portfolio and sales potential and am in the process of designing multiple affiliate microsites that the company will intend to use as marketing and sales tools.
I am well skilled across the range of desktop publishing software such as Adobe Creative Suite (CS3/4), QuarkXpress and with the web programmes Adobe Dreamweaver and Adobe Flash with coding experience in XHTML, HTML, CSS, Javascript and Actionscript.
I would welcome the opportunity to utilize my skills and vision to the absolute best of my ability within the role of Graphic Designer and wish to work in an environment where I bring my creative edge to a team of like-minded, skilled individuals and focus on creating extremely effective work for web and succinct and beautiful print solutions.
