Dear Sir or Madam,

I have applied for the position of 'Writer' as I believe that my skills, experience, and enthusiasm are in line with what the job entails (based on the description).

I have had a passion for writing since an early age and have always enjoyed writing throughout my education, as well as in my current job as an Online Marketeer.

Since graduating from De Montfort University with a 2.1 in Business and Law, I have held a number of jobs that may be relevant to the advertised position. In my current job, working for Boulder Developments Ltd, I have written press releases, rewritten user manuals, and revised the company's terms and conditions. I have also used socail media extensively as a marketing tool.

I also have a big interest in fiction writing and sports writing. I am currently enrolled in a short story distance learning course and am beginning to submit stories to magazines, agents, and other publishers.

My sports writing involves writing feature articles for *, a fast-growing U.S sports website.
