About Michael
As a hardworking, meticulous and organized individual with a passion for media, photography and travel, I am writing to express my interest and enthusiasm in the arts/media/and museum world. My past work experience and my strong interpersonal and written communication skills make me a strong candidate, and I hope to have the opportunity to discuss my qualifications and the position with you at greater length.
I may not be your typical candidate; I was born and raised in the United States and received my undergraduate degree in ancient history from The Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio. However, pursuit of a strong research based graduate program in my field brought me to the United Kingdom and to the University of Leicester, where I am in the process of completing my master's degree in Roman archaeology. My passion for travel and photography expanded once I started at Ohio State and I would love to continue to see and educate others about the world which surrounds them. Studying within the United States and then heading over to England has enabled me with an extensive understanding for international relations, adapting quickly to new situations and provided me with a more detailed interpersonal skill and these skills combined would distinguish me as a part of a creative team.
My work experience and education have provided me with strong office support, leadership and organization skills, both as an individual and as part of a larger team. I served as an admissions counsellor at The Ohio State University, one of the largest comprehensive universities in the United States. This position required a great deal of complexity and an ability to adapt quickly and seamlessly with last-minute changes. In this and other positions, I developed skills to anticipate and address the needs of the directors and colleagues whom I supported, as well as the ability to work on tasks independently and troubleshoot as needed. My experience with developing marketing strategy and outreach as part of the nutritional firm Muscle Milk also has endowed me with a keen understanding of the demands and needs of marketing/promotional teams, and I would bring that familiarity and knowledge to this position.
I believe that I possess a skill set that is complex and well suited for the position within various fields and, when coupled with my academic background, distinguishes me as a strong and unique candidate for this position.
