About me
Having completed a Media and Society degree I have been
looking for a career in a media related field. During my time at
university I did some work experience for a film production company
named Storytellers. I very much enjoyed my time there but regrettably
was unable to continue there with the more hands-on, on set work due to
my university commitments.
The media course I took gave me a good understanding as to how the
media works as it covered a variety of topics. As a result I did a
mixture of essay writing, filmmaking, photography, creative writing and
script writing.
When I left university I searched for jobs within the film and media
industry, but as it's a very competitive area, I was
unsuccessful. I worked for a while at a publishing company called
Executive Grapevine before moving to the Isle of Man with my Manx
fiancée.
When I arrived on the Island I searched for jobs within the media
and worked as a creative copywriter for Mainstream Media. As well as
writing press releases and creative pieces, I also distributed them to
the press and helped in the development of PR plans for the various
clients.
Having also worked in an administration role at Lloyds TSB I am
experienced in working in an office environment as well as having
excellent organisation and accuracy skills. I am now moving back
to the UK in mid-May and am seeking employment.
