About me
I am a recent graduate with an MSc in Digital Anthropology and a BA in Anthropology. I am familiar with various types of research methods which range from traditional forms, such as interviews, to more modern and complex ones in the realm of digital spaces. These skills were gained and refined in both my undergraduate and graduate degrees. Both required a final dissertation, formed of independent research, in order to graduate and receive the diploma.
My MSc in Digital Anthropology has equipped me with a unique skill set and insight into how people use, understand, and interact with various forms of social media. Most of the courses undertook throughout this degree were of a practical nature and afforded us real skills and experiences with the various mediums we were interacting with. Weekly we would try new platforms, interact with the people on them, and work to discover what they used the platform for and what they thought about it. In addition to this practical part of the degree, there was a theoretical component each week where we learned about the history, context, and how users used the internet from the original web to Web 2.0. This section of the degree helped to contextualize and shed light on how and why people operate the way that they do on social media and the internet as a whole today.
This training would make me a valuable asset to your team as I would bring this knowledge and skills to the table, as well as an enthusiastic and eager to learn attitude. This attitude lends itself to quick thinking, creative problem solving, and an adaptable nature.
