About me

Dear Employer,

I have just finished my degree at Nottingham Trent University studying Textile design. As part of my course I had the opportunity to obtain some practical skills within textile design, and am writing to ask if you would consider allowing me to work with your company.

My degree course has given me the opportunity to be creative and develop many skills. As you can see from my CV I have skills towards CAD, screen/digital printing and free-hand sketching, Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator, embroidery and crocheting. I enjoy working in teams and work well under-pressure as successfully demonstrated by my part time job working at JD Wetherspoon resulting in a promotion two levels above to a shift leader. During university I regularly had to present my work among my fellow students and design companies which I projected clearly and precisely explaining the concepts behind the work and my knowledge of the market level and customer. Whilst doing several brand based projects during my time there I had to refresh and create a new magazine spread for I.D. Magazine where we revamped their core beliefs whilst making it modern. Along side that I designed prints for Abercrombie and Fitch focusing on the Gilly Hicks brand which I developed my own logos and designs for the company accordingly.

I am very familiar and also inspired with your company's work and regularly look at your website. If I was to have the opportunity to be employed at your company, I believe it would be an excellent opportunity for me to learn both the commercial and practical elements of design. In return I believe you would be able to make good use of my skills and I would add value to your team. I would very much like an opportunity to meet with you and show you my portfolio to demonstrate the work that I have undertaken at both university and in my spare-time.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Yours sincerely,

Megan Royal.
