Dear Recruitment,
I feel that with my wide variety of skills and experience within an actors agents, casting and film capacity, I would bring a strong and confident approach with the smooth running of the department.
Working within different areas I have learnt to use my friendly and approachable manner to communicate with all different departments as well as being able to understand the way different departments organise and prioritise their time and work schedules. With this being at the back of my mind constantly it helps me work as team and balance the smooth running of the production process.
Working as an assistant in all areas, general admin is an area which I have carried throughout all and have gained many skills along the way. Working in a busy office such as David Daly Associates, attention to detail is a key requirement from making sure all office supplies are all fully stocked to updating actor logs as well as scheduling meetings for either actors or the agents.
Being in the field of the theatre/film/TV and commercials. There is always a chance that something could go wrong at the last minute. From clients' flight has been cancelled, a last minute casting, the scripts haven't arrived, an error in the contract or there is a payment which hasn't been paid. Being proactive is a must and I feel that my strong background in all areas has made me to always think on my feet and to always expect the unexpected.
As said before communication is a key asset of making sure the running of the department is smooth at all times. Working with actors, agents, directors and producers, it was important to always keep them updated with any process.
Spotting new talent and putting myself out there with watching plays and reading scripts has been the key element within my job. I now have the confidence to take chances with new clients and to trust my instinct. I think this is the root in all of the areas I have worked in and it always interested me to see the new talent out there and I think I would contribute strongly with bringing new talent.
I am 25 years old and I am not afraid of hard work and getting my hands in. I am extremely eager to learn and I would love this opportunity. As you can see I have been out of university for three years and I have gained so much experience with being an assistant in film, actors agent, casting and working along side producers.
