About me
Maya Angeli was born in Nicosia, Cyprus, in 1984.
She is a stage and costume designer, painter and scenic artist.
She studied painting at the Milan Academy of Fine Arts - Brera () where she graduated with distinction. In 2007 she was selected to represent the Academy in the international competition "PALAU ARTE", where she was awarded the international prize.
She finished her Masters degree in Stage Design at the Milan Academy of Fine Arts-Brera (2011) with distinction.
Since 2008 she has been working as a Stage / Costume Designer and a Scenic artist, in different theatres around the world. (Cyprus, Italy, London, Greece)
Maya Angeli has been constantly taking dance and piano lessons since her early childhood and during recent years she took part in dance videos and in numerous dance workshops and presentations in Milan, Bolzano and Paris.
Skills
Maya Angeli uses Autocad, Phoroshop and Sketch Up for the Theatre Work., She also uses Final Cut for Video making., Maya Angeli has been constantly taking dance and piano lessons since her early childhood and during recent years she took part in dance videos and in numerous dance workshops, master classes and presentations in Milan, Bolzano and Paris., Among other performances as a dancer, in 2008 she performed the main role in “The Seven Deadly Sins”(Brecht - Weil) with the Milan “Giuseppe Verdi” Symphony Orchestra and the Yale Opera at the Auditorium di Milano., In 2007 she was selected to represent the Brera Academy of Fine Arts in the international competition “PALAU ARTE”, where she was awarded the international prize for painting., Her paintings have been presented in various art exhibitions in Milan and elsewhere in Italy.
Sector Experience
Since 2008, Maya Angeli has been working as a Stage Designer, Costume Designer and Scenic Artist in different Theatres around the world., She designed sets and costumes in the National Theatre of Cyprus, Teatro Olimpico di Vicenza, Teatro RInghiera in Milan, Teatro Nuovo in Milan and she took part as a stage and costume designer at the Ancient Drama Festival in Delphi, Greece., She is now based in London where she worked as a Scenic Artist at the Royal Opera House and the Polka Theatre.
Awards
In 2007 Maya was selected to represent the Brera Academy of Fine Arts in the international competition “PALAU ARTE”, where she was awarded the international prize for painting., She gratuaded with distinction at Brera Academy of Fine Arts in Fine Arts (2008) and Stage Design (2011).
