About me

I have worked In the design and print sector for over 6 years now, originally as a Junior designer within a design studio so I know the design process and have experience using all the major design package including Quark and Photoshop. I have worked as a fine art proofer/artworker and as such have experience in high end colour scanning, colour correcting, digial image retouching. Also during my time in this role I would visit clients at their place of work so they could sign off proofs and decide changes where necessary, so I have experience of communicating with managers, MDs and people at high levels within companies.

My current position finds me running the entire pre-press and press aspects at a busy digital printers. This includes making changes to clients jobs where necessary, (colour issues, diverse file formats problems, errors in files) creating and ripping print ready files, some design work, running some of the printers, setting up and maintance of printers, workstations and some software, making sure jobs are on time and keeping too tight deadlines, keeping clients informed of job progress and informing them of any problems along the way. I also train new and old staff on applications and machines and have used Webtrack job flow software. I have expert knowledge and experience of the pre-press and repro industry, use on a daily bases most design and print applications and I am more than comfortable working on my own initiative under tight deadlines.
