About me

Dear Sir/Madam,

I am interested in applying for the Creative Artworker position and have attached my CV for your consideration. I have recently completed my degree at Sheffield Hallam University and wish to begin my career. As you can see from my CV I have had a long term interest in digital and web design. I am very keen to put the skills I have developed throughout my degree into working practice and feel this would be an excellent opportunity.

My degree involved using both Macs and PCs to create various products, including websites, animations, games, brochures, magazines and many more. Throughout my education I have become competent in a vast array of software including Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Photoshop, Illustrator, Dreamweaver, Flash and InDesign. Although my degree covered a large range of media my biggest interests have always been graphic and web design, and I therefore chose to develop a website for my final project and dissertation. Additionally, I have created blogging, educational and gaming websites which allowed me to develop many skills which I applied to my final project. As well as the design skills I have developed, I have also gained a vast amount of knowledge of coding languages including HTML, XHTML, CSS, PHP, and some JavaScript. I also have a lot of experience with Flash and have good knowledge of Actionscript. I have also used database servers such as MySQL to create registration and log in systems. At university I was also shown how to work to W3C web standards and was educated in search engine optimization.

I have excellent communication skills both written and verbal. Throughout my degree I have developed my communication skills in a variety of ways and have worked proficiently with different types of people. I have had to develop my communication skills in order to produce effective presentations and exhibitions throughout various modules in my degree. Additionally, working on various group projects involved being able to communicate clearly and excellent team work in order to achieve the best quality work possible.

I am a reliable, hardworking and creative individual who has a thirst for learning and enjoys using organisational, technical and artistic skills to overcome a challenge or meet a deadline. Working on my own initiative is something that I have become very accustomed to, and throughout previous work experience, sports and university I have become very good at working and communicating as part of a team.
