About me
Hi :)
I'm Matto Mariotti, an Italian self-taught photographer, currently residing in London.
I began my photographic journey in 2017 after being handed a small camera by a friend here in the UK. Photography has taken me from Lanzarote, Canary Islands to Cameroon, Africa where I was a member of the Thérèse Dipoumbi Foundation, a non-profit organisation that provided a better future for the children of Douala. In 2020 I co-founded Megazine, a pocketable Zine that recognises up-and-coming London based artists and gives them a space for self-expression. In 2021 I joined WappArt&Music a creative space fostering interest in visual art & music, as a creative director. In 2022 I had my first solo show and this year I'm working on a photobook with the Mulwade foundation.
Photography for me always has and always will be a source of therapy and empowerment - whether it is for myself or for someone else. From helping raise funds for charities to provide a source of confidence for others.
