About me
I grew up writing and editing fanzines, novels and forming bands and went on to graduate with 1st class honours in philosophy, a subject I continue to read widely in, study and investigate through the prism of current affairs in my blog. After graduating I moved to London to work as a professional bassist. This career evolved into bandleading and composing for my own jazz collective, mobilizing novel forms of artistic practice and theory through the conduits of London's bars and clubs. I worked as an artist's assistant for three different artists, lending my skills as a researcher, composer, writer, concept wielder and model. My compositions were pressed onto vinyl for an art exhibition sponsored by Adidas. Artistic practices I have developed have included a future proof zero carbon social networking site, conceptual platforms for jazz improvisation, movie-length chamber music performances hashed together from pop cultural detritus, ecological fanfic and a productive network of basketball playing artists and writers.
