About me

My name is Matthew Hornsby.

I have currently just finished my course at The London College of Fashion studying BA Product Design and Development for the Fashion Industries, on my final year menswear collection.

I have gained over a years experience working within the industry in both New York and London.

This proved to be valuable experience working on design, production and buying teams.

I worked for 7 months in New York for American Eagle Outfitters. I learnt how to design at industry level while working alongside vendors and production staff to create seasonal ranges for the Brand, trend and colour research for concept ideas, production work (range plans). I was working with the design team to build concept ranges for buying meetings. Also I had Company funded training in Adobe, Web PDM and Advanced Illustrator.

While at American Eagle I had some of my designs put forward for production which were produced for Summer & Fall 2007. Also working strongly with the production team I gained a great deal of experience in working with vendors, sampling fabrics and trims for the collections and the admin of the role. In the second half of my placement year I worked for Abercrombie and Fitch helping to launch the brand in the UK. I worked as the Lead Visual Stylist for the brand in London, and alongside the Store experience team, helped to style and create the new store in London.

I think im a good candidate for this role and have a lot to offer to the company.
