Re: Artwork Coordinator

I am writing to you regarding the Artwork Coordinator role that was recently advertised, and would be most appreciative if you would consider my application for this position.

I have recently graduated from Norwich University College of the Arts with a first class honours in Illustration. I have a fresh and ambitious mind, full of ideas, potential and determination. In addition to having spent three years honing fantastic technical skills in a range of illustrative and design processes, I have developed skills for critically engaging with briefs, resulting in an individual and inventive approach to problem-solving and generating ideas.

The position of Artwork Coordinator would allow me to make the most of my new skills. In the role, I would display an ability to create thought provoking outcomes whilst at the same time exhibit the discipline and determination to see them through to completion.

Studying at the Norwich art school gave me access to amazing workshops and resources. I have extremely competent Mac operating skills, with a proficient understanding of Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign. I have a strong eye for design, and possess the initiative to creatively solve problems and work to tight deadlines. Studying Illustration has given me the chance to develop a strong sense of visual communication in a variety of ways. I have experience of creating work for commercial success, as well as designing more bespoke, personal pieces of work.

Within my final year of study I designed, illustrated and built a audio book as an entry into this years D & AD student awards. The brief I set myself was challenging, but resulted in a highly original and personal piece of work. Throughout my time as a student I have worked on a number of poster designs, and understand the value of successful advertising.

I have had the responsibility of student representative for my course at university. This position has helped me develop my communication and organisational skills as well as understanding the value of working as an effective member of a team. In addition, within my illustration course I have also taken part in an auction event in which we sold our work alongside that of professional illustrators and designers. The night was extremely successful, and it was enjoyable to be involved in preparing an event to such a professional standard.

As a graduate I have the required skill set needed to perform well. I enjoy all elements of design, and always keen to learn something new. I enjoy working both independently and in a team, displaying a focused determination to produce a high standard of work in the time limit available.
