About me

Dear Sir / Madam,

Im currently looking for a career which is more orientated around design.

I have been working in sales, through various roles, since leaving school in 2004. I also have a large interest in Marketing and have almost completed a Professional Certificate of Marketing through the CIM along with a qualification on Adobe Photoshop and an HNC in Interactive Media.

At school during my GCSEs and A-Levels I studied both IT and Business Studies. I covered many aspects of computers and IT within my IT Course. A module I took great interest in was the Web Site Design module; although it only covered HTML Coding I found it very interesting.

Since leaving school I have gained experience through my employment. While working for T-Mobile, at store level, I had to work to targets and help the store achieve its KPIs. My dedication and hard work meant that I was entrusted to take care of and run other stores in the area for short periods of time. I proved myself trust worthy and responsible enough to represent a company in different areas, and work along side, but also manage a team of people I wasnt familiar working with. After being entrusted with this on many occasions I was granted the opportunity of moving stores and becoming Keyholder of the Kidderminster Store.

Currently I am working within the RoSPA sales team. Whilst completing my role to the best of my ability and within company targets, this isnt where my true passion or career aspirations lie.

On a more personal level I have a great interest in Design and am a self-proclaimed perfectionist when it comes to photo manipulation and other design aspects. As mentioned above I have completed a course in Photoshop and I am currently working towards a HNC in Interactive Media to help excel my knowledge within Photoshop along with Adobe InDesign, Adobe Dreamweaver and 3D Studio Max. The course is completed during evening college sessions and personal time.

Recently I have been doing work for a local charity. They approached me to design the menu for a caf they run for carers in Brierley Hill. The head of the charity was impressed with my work, attention to detail and my ability to maintain his ideals and mix them with my own. Following this he has asked me to design and create the website and leaflets for the charity. The fact that I do this in my own time and for no charge to the charity is a testament to my personal efforts to increase my experience and to help get a step in the right direction for my career.

I believe my personal knowledge, interests and willingness to learn new things is a great base to move into this role. Over the years I have built up great communication skills, which I apply in a professional and social environment. I am also computer literate, have excellent Microsoft Office skills and am comfortable using both Microsoft Windows or Mac OSX.

I look forward to your reply.

Yours Sincerely,

Matthew Albutt
