About me

My name is Matteo Castelli, I am an italian Director of Photography and Camera Operator.

With almost 20 years behind the lens, my experience brings a depth of unique talent behind any camera. My appeal for the forms of light and shadow and their capacity for illuminating various arrays of warm and cool tones, hard or soft, high key or low key, provides a way to tell a dramatic or joyful story in a powerful and captivating manner. When I start to light each set, my goal as Director of Photography is to create images that will serve the story and impress the viewer on an unconscious level. I belive the viewer doesn't "see" the photography, but feel it. From features to shorts, commercials to documentaries, music videos and news, corporate videos, weddings, sport and travel I have the right experience that extends across numerous facets of entertainment and media.
