About me

I'm an award-winning and bestselling author and copywriter, with a deep and abiding love for words and their power.

I have two decades of experience as a creative, both as an art director and copywriter, with eight "awesome" years as a Senior Writer for the LEGO(R) Group. I've worked on FMCG, "Deutsche auto", pharma, tech, news media and more, across all platforms, and I'm a specialist in children's toys, games, entertainment and publishing. Oh, and I'm also the author of the Costa Book Awards shortlisted novel for young adults, "Orphan Monster Spy" and its sequel "Devil Darling Spy". This takes me into schools where I do talks and workshops, and I'm often editing or mentoring others in children's publishing.

There are some spiky bits of Perspex, crystal and metal (and one piece of wood) on my shelves, one of which has so much lead in it that it's toxic and can only be handled if you're wearing gloves. I can't find them, and it is getting dusty. Do look at my super-garish CV, which endeavours to make all this seem less contradictory and scattergun.
