Dear Natifha Anson,
I was incredibly excited and enthusiastic when I saw the opportunity to work for your prestigious establishment. I am looking for a permanent role related to a creative field, and HH Global has a hugely impressive roster of clients, and I would be honoured to be even just considered for this job. I feel that I have a lot of things that I can offer for this role, but I also want to improve myself further, and I can see that this is an opportunity to progress to the next step of my career.
In May this year I began a month's internship with "Endeavour Press", who have been featured in The Guardian, and are the UK's leading online publishing company. Although this was only a short occupation, the experience has been hugely illuminating, allowing me to hone my writing skills even further, and I now work for this company as a freelance proof reader. As well as improving my writing skills, I also gained valuable insight into online promotion, as I helped manage the social media accounts, and write the newsletters.
Last December I had an internship with an American company called 'Write Movies'. It was remotely based and my role was to read through movie scripts and then write a detailed, professional analysis for each one that I'd read. This offered me insight into working under pressure, producing a professional standard of writing, and an understanding of the workings of the movie industry.
Before pursuing a career in publishing I ran two successful nights in Manchester - one was at "South", which is one of the biggest, and most respected clubs in the city. As well as playing for the night I also promoted it, which granted me invaluable understanding of how to effectively use social media for marketing purposes. It also taught me a lot about organisational skills, and working on my own initiative.
When I was at university I also wrote for the university paper "The Mancunian" for the music, news and lifestyle section. I contribute regularly to a site called 'Tremr', in which I discuss British politics from a leftist perspective, and recently I have interviewed Mail On Sunday columnist Peter Hitchens. I am also an occasional pundit on a local TV station in Manchester called 'Now We're Talking', in which I voice my opinion on news stories and current issues.
