Being a photographer for a living, what could be better than that
I realised I had far too much creative energy at college and discovered I could actually do a degree in a thing called Photography! So that's what I did! I went to the University of Gloucestershire and got myself a BA Honours in Photography Editorial and advertising.

At university the greatest thing I was taught was that a great photographer is an individual. This is why you can look at work by Gregory Crewdson, Nick knight and Ansel Adams and say that this piece of work is theirs. Over the years this is what I've strived to accomplish and that is individuality, and now I feel I've got it!

I feel that my style is pretty unique, partly because I think I am approaching what I do in a way that a lot of other people may not be. I do this by use my lighting and Photoshop skill to try and create movie-esque imagery.

I was self taught in Photoshop all the way up to going to university, once there I was very fortunate to be able to learn from lectures that had great skill in using this program.

To get this far I've needed to maintain a high level of self discipline, a strong work ethic and being able to immerse in what I'm doing....which is often getting creative in Photoshop. I find Photoshop to be a marvellous tool, and I pretty much use it to tweak all my images. This could be from the slight adjustment of colour but also to the full blown composite.....and the great things is, with my work, I try to make it so you can't see it.

I would say my experience in photography is very much based around my degree and that's in photography in editorial and advertising. I have done the photography work for small businesses, but in recent years I have found I have been doing graphic design and a lot more retouching work as well.
