About me
My name is Maryna Prins and I am a Digital Creative Director by trade.
When I was a small girl my father once asked me what I wanted to be when I grow up, I
answered that I wanted to draw pretty pictures. That dream never died, but evolved and
today I can say that I'm an experienced designer for print and digital mediums.
However, the pretty pictures were not enough to quench my thirst for knowledge, and at
the beginning of my career, I discovered that I was a capable front-end developer. The
developer's approach and thinking influenced my design methodology, and piqued my
interest in data, analytics, and the extent to which I could push digital platforms in the
advertising sector.
In truth, I have ruffled some feathers over the years with my analytical approach and
goal-driven mindset, and belief that a TV ad isn't always the best course of action.
I enjoy looking at the broad picture, using analytics and data to inform my decisions, and
pushing the available platforms to go beyond their intended functions. When trying
anything new, there is a sense of adventure and excitement, and it is because of these
experiences that I have only had rewarding ones in my work. In a nutshell, I genuinely
enjoy my work.
During my more than ten years as Creative Director, I also came to realize how much I
love working with people, developing their abilities and maturity, and assisting them in
moving up the career ladder to higher and more fulfilling positions. Many of my "formerly"
juniors have gone on to become Creative Directors, and I'm proud to claim that I played
a role in their development.
