Job Title : Accessories Design Assistant

I am currently working at Ally Capellino, a bag and accessory designer, as a design assistant. My roles vary from product research, placing orders and general studio administration to working in the design team. All samples are made in the studio which has enabled me to become proficient in areas such as pattern cutting and machining. I have also developed a good knowledge of leathers and I am familiar with a wide variety of fixings and trims used within bags and accessories. I have been particularly involved in one line of her Autumn Winter 2005 collection where I was a key figure in the designing, sampling and production. Other aspects of my role include liaising and conveying sampling instructions to manufacturers both in the UK & the Far East.

Having gained some fantastic experience with Ally would like to move into a bigger company where I would be working within a larger design team. I have good CAD skills which I would also like to use more in the work place.
