Dear Sir/Madame,

In response to your advertisement on the Creativepool website, I wish to apply for the position of Designer and have attached my curriculum vitae as required.

A Masters degree in Product Design and Manufacture at Loughborough University has generated a sound understanding of engineering principles and developed a great enthusiasm for pioneering design. As a creative individual I enjoy utilising my artistic and inventive talents to generate innovative designs intended to produce increased product performance and great visual influence whilst agreeing to defined and realistic cost and manufacturing specifications. I am familiar with the expectations granted to designers within dynamic organisations to perform as a team. Employment within the world renowned Dyson Appliances Ltd design department enabled me to expand my project planning skills, model prototypes, provide presentations, and develop my knowledge of CAD and various other creative design tools. In particular I have become fluent on an advanced computer aided design (CAD) package called Unigraphics, which enables the user to produce detailed engineering drawings and rendered models. I am now very keen to continue to apply my knowledge and experience of design within a commercial environment and I believe I would make a valuable contribution to an innovative company as a Designer.
