I believe that an entry-level position of this calibre could be a fundamental learning curve, providing you in turn, with a potential employee that is willing to put in the arduous hours needed to ensure top notch creative content is created on a consistent basis. I see this opportunity not only as a graduate placement, and as a chance to further my skills, but also as a stepping-stone to make a real name for myself, using the valuable experience to progress through the company ranks swiftly. Bestowing an opportunity to a candidate from this background will become advantageous, as I can draw upon the skills I have acquired in the print industry to give insightful and creative news accounts to the reader, which eludes the mundane and repetitive accounts found on a variety of existing platforms today. I have put my dream to become an influential writer into practice and carried out work experience placements with publications that draw huge followings within their respective fields; including the national tabloid the Daily Star- and the Warrington Guardian. During this time, I became more aware of the importance a publication can serve to its reader, and how minor editorial glitches can have a damaging effect on consumer perception and behaviour.
I feel my services can best lend themselves into this world of copywriting, as this type of field serves an influential purpose to consumers on a day-to-day basis making the field a more influential and persuasive writing tool I believe than a newspaper. The world of copywriting is cutthroat, and for a business to survive in this modern climate, it is detrimental that the company's core values can strike a bond with its consumer to keep them coming back for more.
Having a compilation of previous work experience within these high-end news establishments has contributed in creating a writer that can work to deadlines no matter what editorial dilemmas stand in my way. My experience of interactive software Adobe InDesign, further soldifies the grounding as to why I should be the selected candidate. I will be able to use my skill set to assist in duties such as, the design of brochures, proofreading of content and page layout guidelines.
