Dear Sir/Madam,
I wish to express my interest and motivation for the vacancy for the Senior Creative Artworker role which has been recently advertised.
I'm delighted to enclose a CV, from which you will see that I have over 16 years' experience of working in design and print industry.
For your interest, a brief summary of my knowledge and experience is as follows:
I am fully conversant in using Mac's and PC's. Using software packages such as Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Quark Xpress, and Acrobat, I am competent and have some knowledge in using the range of Microsoft Office packages.
I fully understand the concept of most printing methods, from creation to completion, due to working in this area for the last 16 years.
My current role working as Design and Marketing Co-ordinator, is a position where I am responsible for all aspects of internal design, brand management, marketing and print for the company. I work on development and system management for the company app, which is used by a team of 6 members of staff. I am also required to deliver Sports tutoring sessions to children at levels F2, KS1 and KS2.
Previous to my current role I was the Studio Artworker/Co-ordinator for a large printing company, where I am responsible for 3 members of staff which I co-ordinate and lead through day to day tasks;
- Working under pressure to meet tight deadlines and targets.
- Working as an integral part of a team and supporting colleagues where necessary.
- Producing work to a high standard, giving customer satisfaction and ensuring the final product meets the customers' needs.
- Proof reading work accurately for spelling, layout and colour separation
- Management of an artwork database for large financial and blue chip companies.
- Interpreting and understanding briefs from customers and colleagues.
- Preparing artwork files for digital output, incorporating Colour Management Software Systems.
- Using Computer to Plate (CTP) machinery in order to produce print layouts. Paying particular attention to accuracy, size, colour separation, fonts and trapping.
- Managing Studio training and development records.
