Dear Sir/Madam,

I would like to introduce myself. My name is Marlon Augustin, I am a graduate of University of Roehampton and I am currently looking for a job in film editing.

While I was surfing through the Internet, I came upon your advertisement and I would like to apply for this position. I believe I have the necessary qualifications required for the position because as you can see from my enclosed CV, I have worked three jobs and I am able to balance two of those jobs at the same time. This is an example of my brilliant time management skills and responsibility. Not only am I highly creative in my editing skills using Final Cut Pro, but I am exceptionally gifted when it comes to aesthetic qualities regarded in productions. I have been researching contemporary and world cinema before my studies at university as I was always interested in the formats that films are created. My understanding of cinema has increased exponentially due to my studies in Sixth Form and higher education. With that said, I have gathered an innovative, creative, independent and tenacious attitude towards productions.

I have created many productions during my education yet I am always willing to learn new skills and adapt that towards newer productions. With the knowledge I have gained during university, my productions earned respectively a 2:1 and a 1st grade. I have a warm friendly manner and show great patience towards others. I am well-organized, clean and neat and always look for an opportunity to create and input aesthetic influences into my productions or work. My job as an Escalator Safety Supervisor and a steward was balanced with my education, which demonstrates my brilliant time-managing skills as well as dedication to work and education. I worked during the peak periods of summer and Christmas in Topshop and Hamleys Toy Store.

Both of these environments are diverse, but they have also given me the opportunity to develop many of my interpersonal skills. This goes hand in hand with my ability to work well in a team and contribute much work and dependence throughout each team member. My experiences within production and post-production involve using Panasonic cameras during Sixth Form and HD cameras during university whilst predominantly editing with Final Cut Pro. During my education, a small group from my sixth form went to Brixton to meet with professionals from the BBC and also participated in being an active member for The Serpentine Gallery.
