Capturing a decisive moment, creating memories, conserving sensations and more - this is what compells Markus Heimbach to be a photographer. His reportages for magazines and major corporations have taken him to China, Vietnam and Australia, the United States, Sibiria, the Middle East and Africa.
Markus Heimbach was born near Cologne in 1960 and lived in Amman/Jordan for the first seven years of his life. This region still fascinates him today with its light, solitude and aridity. For the past 15 years he has made countless trips to the United Arab Emirates and Oman. Heimbach has avoided any type of given photographic philosophy - moreover he follows his own instincts and ideas. His claim to quality: aesthetics and precision. GPS, compass and digital topographical maps are a must along with his photo gear.
His customers include major industrie and automobile corporations, shipowning and general aviation companies as well as magazines, agencies and media publishing houses. In nearly three decades he has created numerous video films, photo books and travelguide magazines from Alaska to Oman, from St. Peter-Ording to Berchtesgaden in good old Germany.
