Dear Sirs,

I am writing this letter in response to the 'Junior Web Developer' position available within your company. I have a very keen interest in computerised technology and web design and, particularly software development. I have spent the last 6 years studying Multimedia Creation and Multimedia Technology at Glasgow Caledonian University and graduated this year with a Bachelor of Science in the latter. This meant that I developed a vast understanding of the hardware and software principles that are known on these platforms whilst also improving and learning about the features of multimedia technology. The creation of content management systems and use of FTP was a large part of my degree when designing and creating websites and, as it is also a common interest of mine, I would very much like to expand on these skills in the working sector. I have used Macs and PC's since day one of my course and also in my personal life meaning I am very proficient and comfortable around them. I feel that with my knowledge of multimedia principles and skills with networking and Mac systems, I would be an ideal candidate for this position.

After graduating university, word of mouth spread that I was available for design and development projects. I then started to gather up a few clients and have already completed business cards and search engine optimisation for several local businesses.

During my time studying at university, I also had a part time job in McDonalds Restaurant as a Staff Trainer. Although not relevant to my degree, I have spent seven years in the same working environment so I have learned a great deal about the job and the skills required. I have a vast knowledge and understanding of customer service, having dealt with the public for seven years, and strive to make sure that all customers have a pleasant experience.

I feel that my background in technology means that I have the skills required to make sure that hardware and software problems can be rectified in a suitable manner and development and design tasks can be carried out very efficiently. My seven years working for the same company and in the same job shows that I am reliable and trustworthy and able to carry out tasks at hand to a highly satisfactory level.
