About me

Having left Loughboro' Iworked as a freelance furniture maker and jeweller,but found the scale too restrictive.I then apprenticed myself to a blacksmith and finished my training at Hereford college where I won the Harry skinner award for the best newly qualified smith in 1995. On leaving I worked for a firm taking responsibility for all hot work and the restoration of Worthing pier.during this time i ran my own workshop until such time I was able to become fully self employed. My work encompasses both the traditional and contemporary, my design work is client driven and at all times appropriate to site and brief. I have a good working knowledge of fitting,fixing and finishing techniques, as well as appropriate joining methods. I am able to make specialist metals such as damascus and mokume gane and am confident with base metals and timber. In short from a given brief I am able to supply a design to fit service working with any number of professional bodies. As I have basically learned my trade from the bottom up I am in a good position to forsee any possible problems and get the job done efficiently.I have very good relationships with a number of suppliers, finishers, and craftsmen all of which can be put to good use.
