About me

Hi. My name is Mark and I'm a web designer. I build simple and beautiful websites for individuals, small businesses and organisations. I design and deliver content clearly using innovative techniques and with an emphasis on a high-quality user-end experience.

I bring together a solid understanding of the most recent web technologies with my background and training in contemporary art. My approach is to combine the tried-and-tested in design with newly emergent aesthetic trends that I see around me in the art world and beyond.

Most of my skills are self-taught and I am always learning new ways of designing for the web. I have a confident and well-organised approach to business and am able to work to tight deadlines. Overall I aim to design websites that stand out from, rather than fit in with the competition.

Skills

HTML - Hand-coded, compliant HTML, well structured and clearly indented code, CSS - Using the latest CSS3 properties to create progressively enriched designs, Photoshop - My design skills are impeccable. I have an excellent eye for precise detail. My designs are always clear and simple. I have excellent skills in image correction and maximisation for web and a good all-round understanding of the software , Javascript - I am currently customizing JQuery plugins rather than writing from scratch. I am also currently completing an online course in Javascript - Essential Training, Accessibility - I am aware of the need to construct accessible sites for a wide variety of users, platforms and browsers
