About me

Hello, I'm Mark.

I am a copywriter with four years' experience in advertising, marketing and music journalism.

At AKQA London, where I currently work, I write for Nissan, Fiat, the British Army, Orange and T-Mobile. I am responsible for concepting and delivering exceptionally precise, high-quality copy in each brand's unique tone of voice, often to very short deadlines.

I work closely with Art Directors and Designers, User Experience Architects and Planners to craft digital copy that drives results for our clients.

I have worked in several different functions within the advertising and marketing industry. This has given me a broader range of skills than many other copywriters.

At Southbank Centre, I worked as a Marketing Officer. I wrote copy for Hayward Gallery microsites, print ads, HTML emails and social media channels. My largest integrated campaign was for Tracey Emin. The experience of writing for her was interesting: she was perhaps the most difficult client of my career. But it was ultimately incredibly rewarding.

I have also worked as an Account Manager on high profile accounts including Topshop, Credit Suisse, Windows Phone and Prada. The experience gave me thick skin and made me adept at managing both clients and internal teams in a friendly and approachable manner, while knowing when to take the lead.

My freelance music journalism work has kept my love for longer-form writing ticking over and has helped me to continually improve at my trade.

It would be great to discuss the role further. My portfolio site is *.

Best wishes,

Mark
