About me

Marilina Alvarez lives in Buenos Aires, Argentina. She was always interesting in writing stories.

She studied Film Direction in CIEVYC, Psychology (UBA), Graphic Design (Da Vinci School), Set Construction (Saulo Benavente Institute), and Set Design (COLON THEATRE).

As Art Director, she worked in tv, commercials and films, with director such as Gregorio Cramer, Juan Chappa, Ulises Rosell, Martin Escriche, Horacio Thedy, Matías Bertilotti, Diego Crespo, Claudio Ferrari, Nicolás Silbert, Liliana Nadal, Matias Mera, Gonzalo Gerardin, Eduardo Mc Clean, Sebastián Lopez, Andrés Gonzalez, Federico Fragolla, Raul Perrone, Benjamin Bacheti, Hernan Bargman, Martin Turnes, Marcela Luchetta and Vanesa Paredes.

In 2013 she was selected by INCAA as script writer with her draft "Awaking" (Armonia Films), for the Clinical Development Contest Raymundo Gleyzer. In 2014 and 2015 she directed "Abundancia"/Abundance",a documentary about healthier changes in people way of eating in Argentine and "Comer Sano"/Healthy Eating" a tv show about healthy and vegetarian recipes.

In 2017 she filmed "I don't want to say anything, but" is her first fiction shortfilm. where she also worked as Art Director. In 2017 this shortfilm was selected and in several festivals in Argentina, Spain, USA and Dominican Republic.

In July 2017 as Art director, production manager and casting director presented with Nacho Codrón "SUEÑOS"/"DREAMS", a photos exposition in Borges Cultural Center.

In 2019 worked as Art Director in the feature film "AXIOMAS" directed by Marcela Luchetta "PR1NC3SA" an independent film directed by Raul Perrone, "FABIAN CANTA" an INCAA short film by Diego Crespo, "VIA RUTA" an independent short film and the interview tv show "ALTERNATIVAS" produced by CASA SOFIA and directed by Julia Zárate.

In 2018 and 2019 she directed the tv documentary serie "PASAJE DE IDA" / "ONE WAY TICKET", supported by the Castilla and Leon Junta (Spain).

In 2022 worked as Art Director in "El Agronomo" , a feature film by Martin Turnes and in 2023 she presented her second short film, as DIrector and Script Writer, "Instante Secreto".
