About me

Mariano Melman Carrara is a senior VFX and Animation Producer.

For over 15 years, Mariano's production and creative development skills have been put to use at the forefront of both traditional and interactive storytelling. His diverse expertise has seen him produce episodic format animation for world leading meditation app Headspace, Spike Jonze's 2013 science fiction film 'Her' and the highly acclaimed Stevan Riley documentary 'Listen to Me Marlon'.

In 2016 Mariano produced the '1600' AR app for President Obama's administration which allows anyone with a smartphone or tablet and a $1 bill to take a tour of 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.

Mariano also produced Google Spotlight Stories 'Rain or Shine' (named by Variety magazine as the most interactive Spotlight Story to date) and the Emmy nominated 'Back to the Moon' which launched as the first ever VR enabled Google Doodle, as well as producing projects for Facebook, Marks & Spencer, Unilever, IBM and Microsoft among other clients.

More recently, he has produced VFX content for several feature films including Hitman's Wife's Bodyguard, Jolt and The Protégé.

Before joining Union VFX, Mariano was a Producer at Worldwide FX UK, Nexus Studios and Passion Pictures in London.

Mariano has attended several international animation festivals as both guest speaker as well as juror.
