About me
Dear Sir/Madam
My name is Marianne Seymour and I would like to apply for the Online Editorial Assistant position at House of Fraser, as advertised on Creativepool.
I recently graduated from Oxford Brookes University with a 2:1 degree in Publishing and English Language. After finishing my degree I moved to London to work on a series of internships to broaden my writing and editorial experience. I have worked for Women's Fitness Magazine, Runner's World Magazine and Perfect Wedding Magazine. At the weekend I work for Sweaty Betty to earn money and improve my knowledge of technical fabrics. I am currently studying for a Sub Editor's qualification on one evening a week at the London School of Publishing.
In terms of what I can offer as an Online Editorial Assistant for House of Fraser, I always meet deadlines by organising my work effectively and prioritising tasks. I can write thought provoking and enticing copy by combining my writing skills with the sales techniques I have learnt from working at Sweaty Betty, The White Company and White Stuff, as I believe the two go hand in hand. I will be able to convey the House of Fraser tone of voice because I have ordered online many times and I shop in the Bath store when I am at home. I would also portray the products in a positive light at the same time as making sure the product information is conveyed effectively.
I can work with the online team because my weekly job at Women's Fitness Magazine was to upload over twenty articles onto their secondary website weheartliving, by using their CMS system, as well as effectively optimizing SEO performance. I also sourced the imagery to complement the article content by building professional relationships with PR companies. I can certainly help with social media as I am confident using Facebook, Instagram and Twitter, to name a few. Additionally I can proofread because I did some paid freelance work for Pearson Education UK. I understand the importance of standing out against competitors whilst building a loyal relationship with customers by giving them reliable information; therefore to help plan, administrate and create online content, I would bring a unique voice to the role, hard work and dedication, passion for the company and innovative ideas.
I believe I am the perfect candidate for this role because I also studied textiles for six years up to A-Level standard and fashion is an art I appreciate. For example I recently went to the Louis Vuitton Series Three exhibition and I watched the documentary on Channel 4 about Christian Louboutin's immersion into the Asian market. Finally, I like to read fashion magazines to keep abreast of what is trending.
I have a blog which is a compilation of my writings. Please look so you can get an idea about the versatility of my style.
I am available to start immediately and I would gladly come in for an interview at your convenience.
Yours faithfully,
Marianne Seymour
