About me
Mariaemanuela Messina was born in Milan, Italy. She is a writer, researcher and curator based in London.
After studying Art, Drama and Music Studies at Bologna University, she undertook a path that has led her to work in television, theatre and fashion.
She is author of the book 'CINEMA.MODA Il cinema e la moda tra filmico e sociale', Arduino Sacco Editore, Rome, 2011.
In 2007 she won the 'International Prize Filippo Sacchi' for the best academic thesis of cinema issue, at the 65th Venice Film Festival - La Biennale.
Her academic research was published in 2011. Since the year 2012/13 her essay is text book at Bologna University, and Accademia di Belle Arti di Napoli.
With a Master of Art degree from Goldsmiths University of London, she writes on contemporary art in the areas of fashion and moving image.
She is currently curating events and a multi-site project in London involving installations, live performances and experimental music.
