About me

Dear Sir/ Madam,

I am writing to apply for the Graphic Designer role, posted on creativepool.co.uk website. I am very interested in joining your team, in order to further develop my skills through working in a creative environment, while making a real contribution.

My freelance and academic experiences have greatly increased both my knowledge and passion for graphic design. I have always enjoyed using my creativity as a means of communication and I strongly believe that simplicity in design can produce the most effective results as far as communication is concerned.

My experience as a freelance graphic designer, as well as a member of the graphic design studios Maven and Page Up, has offered me an insight into the development of visual identity projects, which I consider amongst the most exciting yet demanding and important parts involved in the design process. I have gained experience in designing logos and visual identities for a variety of businesses, including hotel businesses and private schools. Working as a freelance graphic designer has been an invaluable experience, through which I acquired strong skills in developing projects from concept to completion. It has also offered me an insight into the designer-client relationship. I have learnt how to understand their needs, negotiate and promote ideas with flexibility.

Working as a graphic design intern with Maven and Page Up design studios has taught me to follow specific guidelines and to interpret design briefs effectively. I have learnt how to work effectively as part of a team, while being self-motivated at the same time. Through a variety of projects, including, among others, promotional posters for cultural events, web design, catalogue design, and visual identities, I acquired valuable skills in developing advertising and marketing materials. I have also acquired strong communication and presentation skills.

Throughout my degree and masters courses, I developed strong research and analysis skills. Dissertations and research projects have taught me how to plan my time effectively and use resources in the most efficient way. During my studies in Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design I learnt how to work well under pressure and developed a flair for detail. My MA final project in Communication Design has enhanced my problem-solving and time management skills, as well as my organisational skills, having to manage a variety of tasks at the same time.

My work experience to date has been mostly of a freelance nature. I, therefore, regard joining Michael Page Design as both an exciting prospect, and an opportunity to further explore my potential and develop new skills.
