About me

IPC has given me experience working with different creative people and projects across fourteen licensed magazine titles. A big part of my role is to represent the production side of the department both in writing and in face to face meetings, dealing with clients, executives and business development managers based in the UK and abroad, helping solve problems, negotiating and assist with organising the daily running of the department. My focused approach to tasks helps maintain and develop existing and new clients by keeping up to date with the processes and presenting clear briefs and reports to other team members to keep information flowing whilst targeting the areas that need more attention in terms of production and in context of the received correspondence. I believe I can communicate effectively in writing, orally and through presentations, a skill I have developed whilst studying and which I constantly build on both professionally and outside work.

The production aspect of my job is executed by coordinating and organising several angles of the production process; keeping to deadlines, understanding the workflow of many different teams and various data/technology/IT systems as well as resolving problems, setting up meetings, organising and handling issues directed at the production team, sourcing images, creating reviews and reports and quickly reacting to any issues that may arise within the process of storing/printing/producing artwork. It's especially important for me to keep up the good relations with our existing customers and provide first class service to them by answering all their requests in a swift, calm, professional and diplomatic manner.

Supporting a group of designers and liaising with print houses to obtain print guidelines and setting up shoots as well as collaborating with external agencies and individual photographers has given me the confidence to want to continue with my career within the creative environment, where I enjoy working with a variety of personalities. My art-based education and work experience has taught me to expect the unexpected, stay calm under pressure and to always think outside the box to find solutions before problems arise. I like to think on the spot if required and act proactively, I find this attitude helps with handling last minute changes when adding improvements to operations. Working with multiple data systems has contributed to develop strong attention to detail which helps spot type errors, mistakes with pagination, source numbers, invoicing, dates and keeping an open mind remembering details from conversions and email correspondence.

Both my production roles to date have given me the chance to use my photo editing, layout and colour management skills . Working with a variety of file formats, proactively investigating, diagnosing and identifying potential issues/problems and implementing solutions when needed. I have experience in working in a digital/ highly technology driven environment. I deal with In design and Photoshop daily, using these programmes both as guidelines for work as well as creating and retouching images for further reproduction. My Photography degree has given me the foundation for a very creative mind and experience working within the creative industry has developed my abilities further.
