About me

I have been employed by Dorling Kindersley on a rolling contract since July 2007 where Iâ€(TM)ve fulfilled many roles inclunding DTP, BCP (Backlist Conversion Project) and Production Editorial. Before this I worked for Emap Communications in their busy production department. In total, I have 15 years experience of book production - from glossy, HiRes consumer publications to text-heavy, batch-paginated business titles - and offer sound technical and organisational skills throughout the process. These include my ability to:-Manage projects from concept to completion; liaise with all parties including designers, editors, packagers, global sales, print production, repro, suppliers and printers; collating/organising materials; outsourcing HiRes workflow to repro in accordance to budget; providing advice and assistance to creative teams to ensure spreads meet technical requirements; creating and preflighting print-ready PDFs.I have a comprehensive knowledge of the Adobe Suite and QuarkXpress, have a conscientious work ethic and am equally comfortable working within a team or on an individual basis.
