About me

With a Masters from Central St. Martins, London, and an avid and intense experience as a Journalist across the globe, ranging from The Times, London in the print medium, as a Content Producer for the broadcast medium, as an editor for a website and as a special writer across the medium of web and magazines, the written word has undoubtedly been the last word in my book.

My love for people stories, has made me innovatively look at not just political journalism, but also cultural, entertainment and lifestyle journalism, and I have been commissioned onto special projects like at the Royal Festival Hall and The London Festival of Architecture, where my work, innovatively depicted through the medium of art and installations, has been displayed and won me prestigious awards. A story I published in 2005 inspired a documentary maker to make a short film on the same subject.

Having had the fantastic opportunity in 2005 to be a part of the core team that launched a Major Daily Newspaper in Mumbai, India: Daily News and Analysis {DNA}, was a real learning experience, as today I understand print from its primitive, business stand point as well and that has been a tremendous learning curve in my career. Where I have done serious Political Journalism with the newspaper, the whiff of having worked as a journalist and Editor for a film based portal, movietalkies.com,the Official entertainment partners to MSN India gave me the chance to be involved in the creative promotions of various Major Feature Films, including Rang De Basanti, the official Oscar Nomination from India, and that has been an exciting look at an entirely different end of the spectrum of writing, and added a sense of perspective to the formats of different journalism for me. Having done exclusive Interviews with Major A List directors and actors, I have also been fortunate enough to cover the prestigious Advertising Awards ( Goafest) as a lead journalist for Dainik Bhaskar, India's largest Media conglomerate, besides being a Journalist and Section Writer for a London based magazine, Tamezin, for and by young people, distributed in the UK, Australia, Malaysia, Singapore and USA.

The variation that I can bring to my profession perhaps comes from my varied interests in life since an early age, as I am a trained Classical Odissi Dancer since 8 years, having given performances in prestigious ballets across the country and am also trained in Fine Arts for 5 years, with my work displayed at The Habitat Centre, Delhi and Nehru Centre, Mumbai. And thus, putting pen to paper, exfoliating thoughts on handmade paper and through more viable mediums when it needs to reach more people, is my true interest in life and I can spend all summer and noon integrating art, writing, life and real moments that catch my eye through the medium of the written word.
